Descend below the streets of Rome to uncover the hidden layers of San Clemente. This immersive walk invites curious travelers, history lovers, and art enthusiasts alike to explore a twelfth-century basilica stacked directly above a fourth-century church, a pagan temple, and even a Roman apartment. You’ll move through frescoes, mosaics, and underground chambers where early Christians once worshipped in secret. Along the way, discover forgotten legends, hear the city’s first Italian curse word, and trace how Rome rebuilt itself through fire, faith, and time — forty feet below today’s surface.
